Coming from an industry where everything is serviceable, the idea of not being able to refurbish a CHRA seems absolutely ridiculous to me. As long as shafts aren't bent, and the wheels are undamaged, center sections should be able to be rebuilt. It's just a matter of replacing the worn parts; bearings, seals, etc. I know turbos spin in the hundreds of thousands of RPM. The dynamic balancing would be the most difficult to do just because of the equipment that is required. I don't understand why it is that this is not done. Discuss
